Together as Major Influencers

International Atomic Energy Agency

In a historic moment, Representatives of France, India, United Kingdom, Malaysia, and the United States have, “come together as major influencers and nations, in order to provide a safer world for all.”

The draft resolution the delegations are working on has many important points, but Representative Daniel Salazar of the United States emphasized two points in their draft resolution. The first point is no creation of new nuclear weapons and the second is to, “work together towards an agreement to disarm current nuclear arsenals.”

While during a joint press conference two major parties dropped their support, Pakistan and the People’s Republic of China, the Representative of Mexico assured this reporter that negotiations were still ongoing and that they look forward to working on a draft resolution together.
