Press Release: Hungary Expresses Neutrality Since Both Sides Committed Human Rights Violations

The Delegation of Hungary would like to express their continued neutrality towards the conflict in Bosnia-Herzegovina, with special recognition to the Bosnian-Hungarian minorities in the area affected by this conflict. They are our first priority. As a neighboring country, Hungary is disproportionately affected by this crisis. Given the expressed neutrality and the reports by the office of the Secretary-General, we would like to treat equally both parties involved in this dispute. The Bosnian-Serbs-Croats and the Bosnian-Herzegovinan combatants have both committed heinous acts against civil populations with the purpose of ethnic cleansing. Furthermore, we would like to highlight the passive approach adopted by the Security council, as they did not acknowledge the recent 600 civilian casualties suffered by the Bosnian-Serbs.

In the past Resolutions we have yielded our national territory to host refugees, and we will continue to do so. However, we refuse to collaborate with any party to this conflict due to the fact that they have both harmed civilians and committed Human Rights violations
