Republic of Korea Submits a Press Release in GA Plenary
GA Plenary Draft Resolution NN:
As the Representative of the Republic of Korea, I firmly believe that natural disasters and humanitarian crises demand urgent and coordinated international action. The frequency and intensity of disasters are increasing each year due to climate change and environmental degradation, placing millions of lives at risk. And the most important truth is this: natural disasters do not have a nationality. They also affect all humanity, regardless of borders.
The Republic of Korea has consistently supported global efforts in disaster preparedness, rapid response and post-crisis recovery. Through cooperation with partners from United Nations Member States, we continue to strengthen early-warning systems, invest in innovative technologies and contribute to humanitarian assistance worldwide.
We fully support the resolution being addressed today because it prioritizes coordination, efficiency and the protection of vulnerable communities. We are optimistic about its passage this morning and view it as an important step toward a more resilient and compassionate international system.
